Forty Goals Scored At Three Centres On Day One Of Weekend League

Bengaluru: BFC Soccer Schools’ Weekend League, ‘Super Saturdays’, kicked off in style across three centres in Bengaluru, over the weekend. Twelve sides battled it out on Day One of the tournament, which is set to go on until December with U8, U10, U12 and U15 sides set to play it out for top honours in the city.

Blues’ Assistant Coach Naushad Moosa was at the venue for the opening match of the day at the Tiger5 Facility in Manyata Tech Park where U8 and U10 teams from XLR8 took on those from Tiger5. “It’s great to see children playing football in a competitive environment at this age because it builds their eagerness to win and an inherent motivation to fight hard. That BFC Soccer Schools has started this League system is a big step forward and I hope more children join and make this a bigger movement going forward,” said Moosa.

Forty goals were scored across six games on Day One, as Clarence Ground Cox Town and The GameChanger, Mathikere joined in on the action on Saturday evening. “Playing football is an activity that children enjoy and I’m very happy that Soccer Schools has started the Weekend League. My son likes coming for the classes, the coaches are very committed to the cause and it shows when my child comes home and is eager to go back,” said Parikshit Chhabra, father of Shivneil Chhabra.
