Two Other Youth Players, Elroy Elvis Jacob And LG Romario, To Undergo Further Trials
Bengaluru FC Soccer Schools, on Friday, announced that Parth Salunke, a student of The Sports School, has been promoted to the BFC Residential Academy, at the Inspire Institute of Sport, in Bellary. Two other players, Elroy Elvis Jacob and LG Romario, will undergo further trials and a decision on them will be taken after.
Speaking about Parth’s selection, his father Subhash Salunke said, “I feel proud when I see how much my son has improved since joining the football program at The Sports School. He has spoken highly of the training he has received there, as well as the facilities he has had at The Sports School and I’m really happy to see him join the BFC Residential Academy.”
Bengaluru FC and The Sports School recently marked the two-year anniversary of their successful partnership, one that aims to help players at the grassroots level develop their technical skills through world class training as well as match experience at various youth tournaments.
“I am very happy with the entire program. Apart from all the training, the experience of playing matches across various tournaments also helped me develop better,” Parth said. “It feels amazing to know that I have been selected to the BFC Residential Academy. I have trained hard and always wanted to get this opportunity, and now that I got it I feel happy to make my parents and brother proud,” he added.
Parth’s selection is expected to be the first of many who will make the step up to the BFC Academy from The Sports School. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic put a spanner in the works, with trials initially scheduled for March this year, postponed due to the lockdowns and other restrictions. However, Dr A Lawrence, Romario’s father, remains upbeat about the situation.
“I was elated to know that Romario had been selected for BFC Academy trials, and I was more than happy to send him to Bellary. Unfortunately, the trials were suspended due to COVID but as things slowly go back to normal, I am looking forward to the rescheduled trials,” he said.
The Sports School students receive the best-in-class technical training throughout the year from Bengaluru FC’s youth coaches, who are licensed by the All India Football Federation or the Asian Football Confederation.
“As a parent, I can tell you that TSS has excellent infrastructure for sports, especially football. The superb football pitch, well-equipped gym and a hostel with all facilities and amenities make a wonderful environment for the kids to learn and develop, both as people and players. I am happy with the program and have already suggested it to many of my friends,” he added.
Bengaluru FC’s football program at The Sports School provides students with a holistic development plan, with equal focus given to on-pitch development as well as academics. To know more, or to register, click here.
