BDFA President MP Swamy Present As BFC Soccer Schools Celebrates Milestone Moment

Bengaluru: Bengaluru FC Soccer Schools celebrated a milestone moment in its journey with the inauguration of its tenth center at the Sri Chandrashekar Azad Ground, in Hampinagar, Vijayanagar, on Monday. BDFA President Shri. MP Swamy was joined by BFC ‘B’ players Leon Augustine and Lalengzama Vanchhia at the event, which saw over 50 children from the area join in for a fun grassroots program before a coaching session with the coaches.

“It’s very important that sport has a place in today’s society and I am very happy that Bengaluru FC has come to Vijayanagar where there are many children interested in playing football. I hope to see many children coming to play football with these coaches, who can surely improve their skill and technique,” said Shri MP Swamy at the event.

Leon, who joined the club two years ago as part of it’s U18 squad and has since represented the B team in various tournaments as well as the Karnataka State Santosh Trophy team stressed on the importance of learning the basics in football.

“I wasn’t lucky enough to train with licensed coaches when I was younger but I am glad that these kids have that opportunity. To come from where I am to sharing the dressing room with players like Sunil Chhetri, Rino Anto and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu means a lot to me, and I’d like these children to also believe they can and joining BFC Soccer Schools is the first step in that way,” said Leon.
