Soccer Schools Summer Camps Begin At Three Centres

Cox Town: Bengaluru FC Soccer Schools’ first ever Summer Camp, in association with Clarence High School, is underway at the Clarence High School Football Ground in Cox Town. Over 90 students have registered for the camp since the opening day, with classes at 6:30 AM on all weekdays. Other locations XLR8 (got over on 29th April), Bellandur (ongoing till 21 May).

“The aim of these Summer Camps is to allow children to get a feel of what it’s like to be a part of  a structured youth development programme  and a chance to be inducted into the to the academy team in the fall,” said Soccer Schools Manager Melbin Thomas.

Children who are regular to classes and show consistent performances will be awarded a trial with the club’s fully funded youth academy and a chance to represent the club.

Soccer Schools Coaches Shiva Mani, Jeevan Jayaraj, Raju Srinivas, Ashwitha Shetty, Sanath Kumar, Naveen Kumar, Diwakar Manohar and Harish Babu have been training the children at the venue, with age groups of U10, U13 and U16.

“As a coach it is great to see children coming out in numbers to play the beautiful game. It gives us immense pleasure to be giving these children education regarding football and helping them improve their basics. I can definitely say that I have seen some very good talent on display and some of these children will definitely be a part of the club’s academy in the coming months,” said Jeevan.

The Summer Camp is set to run until the 29th of May and two editions of the inter-Soccer Schools tournaments have also taken place at the Clarence High School Ground.
